Bio
David Shaw
Born in 1965 in Rochester, NY. Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
In 1987 he graduated from Colgate University, Hamilton, NY.
David Shaw’s artworks are ritually engaged with nature and develop a reflection on technology and on the relationship between human, nature and culture.
Sculptures made with branches, elemental stuff of the natural world that “dialogues” with holographic foil and glass, which, as abstract allegory, cross-breed nature and technology provoking the viewer to adapt to new and unfamiliar visual sensations.
Since 1987 Shaw is actives with solo and group shows in the United States and Europe, among wich PS1 MOMA, NY; Feature Inc, New York City; Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, Atlanta, GA; Kevin Bruk Gallery, Miami, FL; Kopeikin Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Galleria Astuni, Bologna, Italy; Gallerie Analix, Geneva, Svizzera.
